What is the BICEPP ERT Challenge?
A skills competition for Corporate and Community Emergency Response
Teams.
What is BICEPP?
The Business & Industry Council for Emergency Planning and Preparedness
based out of Los Angeles, California.
What is the ERT Challenge?
On April 3 & 4, 2004 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, teams
will test their skills by competing in a number of skill stations
that are timed and judged by a panel of experts.
There will be a Corporate Team division and a Community
Team division. Corporate based teams will compete on Saturday, April
3rd. Community based teams will compete on Sunday, April 4th. The
skills need to compete are based on the CERT program training that
is now offered to Corporate and Community Teams/Organizations around
the world. The skills stations in the event include: Fire Safety,
Triage, Medical Treatment, Lifting and Cribbing, Victim Movement
and a multi-skill testing Disaster Room that will test search and
rescue skills as well as others.
Why would I want my team to
compete?
This is a great opportunity to get the competitive juices flowing
within your team. This will only add to the level of involvement
that the team members will have toward your team. This will result
in your team being better prepared to respond to an actual emergency
situation. In short it is a great learning experience built into
a competitive event.
Can out of town team compete?
YES! BICEPP would like teams from outside California to join in
on the fun and competition that the ERT Challenge will provide.
Can my company be a ERT Challenge
Event Sponsor?
Yes, BICEPP has three different levels of sponsorship available.
All levels include exhibit space in the event hall.
