Orange, CA (December 8, 2003) The Association of Contingency
Planners (ACP) announces the twenty-year anniversary of the chartering
of the Orange County, California Chapter, which provides business
continuity professionals in the Orange County and Southern California
area the opportunity to network and continue their business continuity
education. The anniversary celebration was held on November 12,
2003 and featured seven of the founding members of the chapter who
provided an historical perspective of our humble beginnings to its
present active and growing membership. The founding members included
Mike Noyes of Automobile Club of Southern California, Sunny Coates
of ReddShell Corporation, Pat Eskenazi of ServPro, Rich Chew of
Emerald Management Group, Lonnie Adams of WFS Financial. Unable
to attend were Linda Burkett of Bergen Brunswig Corp & ACPs founder,
Diane Smith of Sungard, who is on an out-of-state project and could
not attend.
"ACP is excited to honor the Orange County, California
chapter, and their members include presidents, directors, managers,
analysts, and independent consultants from large, medium, small,
and local government organizations. Twelve of the members also fill
the officers and directors positions within ACP, making it a peer-lead
organization," said Paul Striedl, ACP Chapter Services Director.
"Our members get involved and stay involved within their businesses
and communities providing a truly valuable service."
"Californians are very familiar with disasters and
have survived events ranging from earthquakes, floods, riots, to
wildfires," said Monique Weiland, Orange County Chapter President.
"I am proud to be part of one of the originating ACP chapters to
serve business continuity professionals through a forum from which
all benefit, whether it be the family, the community, or businesses.
Sharing our knowledge and experiences only makes us stronger."
