Professional Experience
Paul F. Kirvan, FBCI, CBCP, CISSP is Editor-in-Chief of Contingency Planning & Management (CPM) magazine, responsible for editorial content and direction for the magazine. Previously, Mr. Kirvan was a Senior Consultant with Fortune Consulting and Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore) responsible for business continuity planning and telecommunications project management. Mr. Kirvan has over 35 years experience in information technology and telecommunications, with 15 years experience in business continuity planning, 10 years experience in telecom management and network design, and over 23 years experience in technical writing and training. At Fortune, Mr. Kirvan completed numerous business continuity projects and strategic plans; while at Telcordia, he supported Year 2000 network risk analyses for Chase Manhattan Bank, Wachovia Bank, and Southern Company. He has completed business continuity projects for Vanguard Cellular One and Florida Power & Light. Prior to joining Telcordia, Mr. Kirvan was Director of Telecommunications at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, responsible for all voice and data communications at the institution. He managed his own consulting business, Paul F. Kirvan & Associates for nine years prior to Mount Sinai, and was a Director with The Kingswell Partnership, an international management consulting firm. Among his clients were Bankers Trust Company, Dow-Jones Telerate, GTE, AT&T, and The City of Philadelphia. During that time, Mr. Kirvan completed ten business continuity plans for domestic and international clients; developed three professional seminars on disaster recovery that were taught to over 1500 delegates worldwide; developed four unique disaster recovery software packages, TC/DRP (voice communications), DC/DRP (local area networks), CC/DRP (call centers), and HD/DRP (help desks); published over 300 technical articles and several books on telecommunications and disaster recovery; and has been a regular speaker at numerous industry conferences and briefings. In 2001 Mr. Kirvan received the Industry Achievement Award from the International Disaster Recovery Association (IDRA).

Mr. Kirvan is a member of the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP), the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), the Contingency Planning Exchange (CPE), Business Recovery and Continuity Education Experts (BRACE), the Communications Management Association (UK), the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (NARTE). He is also a former director of Survive! North America and the Business Continuity Institute.

Fee Structure
Hourly or on fixed-fee basis, depending on project scope.
