PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Martin is the co-founder, President and Director of Technical Continuity Services for Business Pathfinders. One highlight of BPI's experience is the establishment of an enterprise-wide continuity program for a Fortune 20 company. Since October 2001, Martin has been a civilian member of the "Richmond Police Department's Terrorism Advisory Committee" (RPDTAC); service is on-going.

Before starting BPI, Martin managed the technical continuity practice for Predictive Systems (formerly Global Integrity) where he was responsible for business development, large-scale project management, and service delivery for business continuity and disaster recovery. While there he established an enterprise-wide continuity program at a multi-national, multi-industry, Fortune 500 company. Martin orchestrated a diverse group of executives and business leaders to develop an integrated Enterprise Continuity Planning department with ties into the individual continuity planning areas for each line of business. Martin also prepared a CLEC (competitive local exchange carrier) for hurricane season by performing a thorough risk and business impact assessment. He successfully developed cost effective solutions to protect their business and information assets. In addition, he consulted with several firms with established BCP programs as a subject matter expert. He has performed an independent review of current programs and provided design and implementation support of enhanced recovery and continuity solutions.

Prior to joining Predictive Systems, Martin was the Year 2000 Contingency Planning Manager for CapitalOne. While at CapitalOne, Martin founded the Contingency Planning department and developed business continuity plans for U.S. and U.K. business units and technical platforms. He also led the development of all Year 2000 Contingency Plans and played an integral role in the development of an Event Management Center. Before joining CapitalOne, Martin was the first Disaster Recovery Manager at Sovran Bank (1989). After several mergers and acquisitions, he served as project leader, consultant, and advisor for development of Contingency Plans at NationsBank, then the third largest bank in the nation (now Bank of America). He has extensive information technology recovery and business continuity experience in the banking and financial industry. In addition, Martin has thirteen years of Business Continuity experience.

Martin has led the development of recovery platforms and alternatives for IBM mainframe, Tandem, Unisys, HP Unix, Stratus, IBM RS6000, Wang, DEC, and Data General systems. Martin played a key role in developing and implementing contingency planning standards and procedures at NationsBank. He received the Hurricane Hero Award for his efforts with the Hurricane Andrew Recovery Center Command Team (1992).
