Business Continuity Awareness Week Set for March

The Business Continuity Institute has announced that it will sponsor a global educational event focused on business continuity management this March 21-25. The institute is an international organization for BCM practitioners. It claims more than 5,000 members in 90 countries.

This year, the educational event will highlight three justifications for BCM that are relevant for senior and executive management: Protecting value and reputation in a crisis; delivering operational resilience; and providing transparent corporate governance and risk oversight.

As it has in previous years, the BCI central office “will develop thought leadership resources and facilitate some advocacy-oriented activities as well as provide a website, forum and webinar program,” according to the organization.

Preparations for the week are underway. BCI Members are invited to submit ideas or proposals for webinars at the group’s website. They are also soliciting “case studies that demonstrate the value of BCM.”
