Hackers Create Jobs

A combination of economic recovery and painful security lessons has prompted companies to step up their cyber-security recruiting.

In an article on the San Francisco Chronicle website, Alejandro Martínez-Cabrera says that according to data from employment market information firm Wanted Technologies, cyber-security job opening across the United States went up from 32,000 to 40,000 in the first three months of 2010, a 25 percent increase.

Joyce Brocaglia, chief executive officer of information security recruitment firm Alta Associates, told the Chronicle they have probably had a more than 50 percent increase in the number of companies wanting to fill security positions this year, compared to last year.

In general recruiters are looking for people with experience in identity and access management and cloud computing, says the article.
