South Korea and Australia Ahead of US for Cyber Readiness

Melissa Hathaway, author of the CRI and corresponding report, proposes that until the creation of the CRI, there was no formal way to measure any one nation’s commitment to securing cyber infrastructure. Hathaway argues that this commitment is critical in order to prevent significant economic losses.

Hathaway posits that, “measuring the declining gains may force governments to align their digital agenda and economic vision with their cyber security strategy…”

So, in the first run of the CRI, where does the United States stand? South Korea has taken first place, followed by several other nations in top spots. Australia also did well, placing ahead of Japan, Canada, the US and several other nations due to their completion of a national cyber security strategy.
