Full Scale

To address concerns of public safety and the growing challenges of establishing rapid and stable communications, the First Responders Network Authority – commonly known as FirstNet – has announced the opening of a new facility focused around the goal of testing new technologies and training personnel.

Located in Boulder, Colorado, and called the FirstNet Innovation and Test Lab, the facility will allow the agency and associated partners to test out new apps, software, and hardware within scalable environments prior to full deployment.

“The opening of our lab is a great accomplishment for FirstNet in our efforts to deploy public safety’s network and we’re proud to open it ahead of schedule and under budget,” said Mike Poth, CEO of FirstNet, in a release. “This will enable FirstNet to get advanced technology into the hands of our first responders and help them save lives and secure communities.”
