2007 Lacy E. Suiter Distinguished Service Award Presented by NEMA

Three Weeks Under Water after Katrina, and Still Working!     
Corvallis, OR – CyberLock® electronic lock cylinders were put to an extreme test during Hurricane Katrina. Many vending machines belonging to Whitener Snacks in New Orleans were under water for three weeks. During clean-up after the storm, they were amazed to find the CyberLocks on machines that had been submerged in mud and water were still working. The Office of Infrastructure Preparedness has now expanded Infrastructure Prep Training to include three critical training programs and one refresher program. CIPS training evolved to support critical national activities that began after America was attacked September 11, 2001. South Carolina EM Agency Standardizes on AreaRAE Wireless Sensor Networks
San Jose, CA – The South Carolina Emergency Management Division develops response plans and coordinates federal, state, and local resources for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery operations in order to save lives and reduce property loss. RAE Systems equipment was selected after a competitive demonstration and capabilities review.
