SCNDPP
The South County [California] Neighborhood Disaster Preparedness Project has been created to encourage citizens to prepare themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods for a major disaster. Their primary goal is to educate families and neighborhoods to respond and function independently of outside services for the first five days following a major disaster. This goal is being accomplished by organizing their neighborhoods into coordinated disaster teams that will be activated when the city and county emergency services are unable to respond to all of the immediate needs of its citizens following a major disaster.

The South County Neighborhood Disaster Preparedness Project has been in existence since January of 1996. In conjunction with the City of Morgan Hill, Office of Emergency Services, they are looking for persons who will accept a challenge and want to start organizing their neighborhood for a Major Disaster.
