The Consortium of Universities for Research in Earthquake Engineering
The Consortium of Universities for Research in Earthquake Engineering (CUREE) is a non-profit organization, established in 1988 for the purposes of representing the interests and capabilities of engineering faculty members and programs in developing research projects that mobilize these capabilities in the effort to:
- Identify new ways research can solve earthquake problems
- Collect and synthesize information and make it easily accessible
- Establish national and international hazard research relationships
- Perform earthquake engineering and related research
- Manage research consortia and cooperative programs
- Educate experts, practitioners, students, and the public

AFCOM

Amateur Radio Disaster Services
Amateur Radio Disaster Services is an official Emergency Station. Since the beginning of radio, Amateur radio operators, "HAM's," have been involved in sending life saving information in and out of disaster areas. During and after Earthquakes, Floods, Hurricanes and Tornadoes, HAM's have been there to assist local, state and federal agencies and relief organizations such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army. The ARDS website has an open forum for Amateurs and others to publish articles that inform the general public and other amateurs of the changing world of the Amateur Radio Service. www.ares.org

The Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration, Inc. (ASCR) is the leading trade association for cleaning and restoration professionals worldwide, and the foremost authority, trainer and educator in the industry. Earthquake Engineering Research Institute
The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute is a national, nonprofit, technical society of engineers, geoscientists, architects, planners, public officials, and social scientists. EERI members include researchers, practicing professionals, educators, government officials, and building code regulators. The objective of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute is to reduce earthquake risk by (1) advancing the science and practice of earthquake engineering, (2) improving understanding of the impact of earthquakes on the physical, social, economic, political, and cultural environment, and (3) advocating comprehensive and realistic measures for reducing the harmful effects of earthquakes. www.eeri.org
Disaster Recovery Information Exchange
The Disaster Recovery Information Exchange (DRIE) is a non-profit, mutual benefit association of systems and business professionals engaged in, or having an interest in, the various forms of planning for an emergency or a disruption to normal operations. In the context of emergency management, the word business applies to both the private and public sectors.
