Emergency managers face a wide range of situations, from man-made emergencies to natural disasters. But through it all, federal, state and local agencies must work together – and they need an effective way to communicate. But a new article says many agencies keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

In an article on the Tech World News website, Bill Grubner Jr. outlines the five most common mistakes agencies make in emergency communications, along with five best practices. “It is important to leverage technology for both inbound and outbound citizen and constituent communication, to improve the performance of the entire emergency communication system and free up resources where they can be used most effectively,” he writes.
